Prime Minister presents Olympian Alana Dillette on October 18th, 2008 Bahamian Olympian Earns Academic All American

Bahamian Olympian, Alana Dillette has earned CSCAA All American Honours as a student athlete who swims with the Auburn Tigers. Dillette is a Junior at Auburn and is studying for a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel and Hospitality Management. She has been a member of the Auburn Tigers NCAA Championship Women's Swimming team in 2007 and the SEC Championship Swimming Team in 2007 & 2008. Dillette has turned in NCAA qualifying times in both 2007 & 2008 and is looking forward to continued excellence both in the pool and in her academics.

Commonwealth Youth Games

October 12 - 18, 2008 - Location: Pune, India
Olympic Team

Three Bahamian swimmers competed in the Commonwealth Youth Games in Pune India October 12th to the 18th. Amoung them were John Bradley, McKayla Lightbourn and Jenna Chaplin.

John Bradley competed in the 50, 100 and 200m Free. McKayla Lightbourn competed in 200m Free, 50 Fly, 200m Breast and  200m IM while Jenna Chaplin competed in 200m Free, 100M Fly and 200m Fly.


Clubs

The number of registered clubs in the Bahamas is about 8 swim clubs, as many as 10 clubs have registered membership in the Federation. Currently, there are 6 clubs located in the capital of Nassau on the Island of New Providence
